Our Story

Dr. Chelsie Armstrong and Dr. William Huttges meet after Dr. Armstrong joined the clinical year at the Atlantic Veterinary College.

Upon finishing school, the pair moves to Halifax together with their cats Maddie and Hampton, where they would reside for 2 years.

Deciding to move back home to New Brunswick, the two tie the knot on August 23, 2014 at their home in Coal Creek, NB.

Together they fulfill a shared dream of owning their own veterinary practice with the opening of Hometown Veterinary Hospital.

After 10 years and counting, the two doctors and their growing team remain excited to bring their knowledge and services to Fredericton and the surrounding areas.

FAQs
While we have previously provided after-hours emergency care to existing clients, this is no longer the case.
We continue to provide emergency services during regular business hours but all after-hours calls get forwarded to Capital City Emergency Veterinary Hospital.
Capital City is a high quality clinic dedicated exclusively to 24 hour emergency services. It is conveniently placed right around the corner from us! Their address is 80 Bishop Dr Suite B, Fredericton, NB E3C 1B2.
Due to volume, we are only able to accept emergencies for existing clients of ours. If you are a client at another veterinary hospital and are experiencing an emergency, we ask that you call your regular veterinarian.
We always ask for clients to call ahead, even in emergency situations, just so that we can properly triage the situation or get any necessary equipment ready for their arrival. That said, everything that is an emergency will be triaged and examined by our urgent care veterinarian. If an emergency is deemed to be outside the scope of what we can care for, we will transfer it to an emergency facility.
Unfortunately, outside of emergency situations, we are generally unable to see walk-ins. Our schedule is fully booked each day, and the only room left vacant in our schedule is reserved for emergency situations. We ask all clients to please call ahead to book an appointment.
Yes! We are now accepting new clients. Contact us to learn more.
